The event takes place on the anniversary of the marriage between Antonio Stradivari and Francesca Ferraboschi, celebrated precisely on 4 July 1667 in the Church of Sant’Agata, and aims to pay tribute to the great Cremonese master and to the city’s musical and violin-making heritage.

The initiative, made possible thanks to the support of Regione Lombardia and with the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Cremona, is part of a broader programme dedicated to promoting Cremona’s musical and artisanal tradition.

An evening in which the great musical tradition meets historical and contemporary violin making: the performers will play both historical instruments and contemporary instruments crafted by the violin makers who took part in the first and second editions of the Violin Making Master Program of Casa Stradivari. A meeting between past and present, demonstrating the vitality of Cremona’s tradition and the continuous renewal of the legacy of the Stradivarian school.

The concert will feature Fabrizio von Arx, Edoardo Zosi, Emma Bertozzi, Stefan Stancic, Beatrice Soccorso and Mattia Madeo on violin, Alessia Pelizzari on viola, Federica Colombo on cello, Lorenzo D’Angelo on double bass and Roberto Danielis Squillaci on harpsichord.
