Il Mito di Stradivari - 4 July 2026

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Fondazione Casa Stradivari ETS and the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory of Cremona celebrated the anniversary of the marriage between Antonio Stradivari and Francesca Ferraboschi with the concert Il Mito di Stradivari (The Myth of Stradivari). The event was hosted at the Church of Sant’Agata in Cremona, the very location where the great Master’s wedding was celebrated on July 4, 1667.

Made possible with the contribution of the Lombardy Region and under the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Cremona, the concert paid tribute to the figure of Antonio Stradivari, the tradition of the Cremonese violin-making school, and the city's musical heritage through a program spanning Baroque and 20th-century repertoire.

The protagonists of the evening were violinists Fabrizio Von Arx and Edoardo Zosi, alongside musicians from the "Claudio Monteverdi" Conservatory of Cremona: Emma Bertozzi, Stefan Stancic, Beatrice Soccorso, and Mattia Madeo (violins), Alessia Pelizzari (viola), Federica Colombo (cello), Lorenzo D’Angelo (double bass), and Roberto Danielis Squillaci (harpsichord).

Particularly significant was that the soloists played on violins crafted by the luthiers of the second edition of the Advanced Violin-Making Course at Casa Stradivari – Angelo Rapaccioli Morassi, Daichi Sakamoto, Soma Suzuki, and Qingyuan Wang. This served as a tangible testament to the dialogue between new generations of violin makers and musicians promoted by the Foundation.

The program featured music by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Arcangelo Corelli, Ernest Bloch, and Fritz Kreisler, offering the audience a musical journey capable of combining the great violin tradition with Cremona's extraordinary violin-making heritage.

With this initiative, the Fondazione Casa Stradivari renewed its commitment to enhancing the Traditional Cremonese Violin-Making Craftsmanship (Saper Fare Liutario Tradizionale Cremonese) and promoting the intersection of artisanal excellence and advanced musical education, confirming its mission to preserve and transmit the legacy of Antonio Stradivari to future generations.
